It's official...
Dec. 8th, 2005 09:07 amI have frozen pipes. It's just too cold. The heat tapes too old, and we fixed the heat ducts last spring, which means there's a lot of warm air that is no longer dumping beneath the house.
I foresee more appointments with the lady plumber in the near future.
The park manager said "open your cabinet doors and turn the heat up," as though that has ever been the solution to anything.
I must admit, I tend to keep the heat pretty low. 65 is a warm as it gets, I turn it down to 55 during the day, and I like it that way.
Plus, the pipes for mobile homes are tiny. More like straws, really, so they freeze really easily.
And I haven't done laundry since Thanksgiving. It's either time to go shopping or to go to the laundromat.
At least my car started this morning. After 15 minutes.
Somedays it feels like a hot bath would fix everything.
I guess I'm lucky I'm not lost in the Yukon with spit cracking in the air, and tobacco frozen to my beard, and a tree that just dumped a load of snow on my last match.
