Heroes: Season 1
Sep. 15th, 2007 07:55 amSo, I finally finished Heroes and I have to say it teeters perilously close to the 'waste of life' side of time consumption. I liked it, overall, but the execution of individual episodes was kind of irritating.
I'm also irritated by the speculative aspect being done so poorly. Why isn't science better utilized in pop cultural? There are still lots of interesting theoretical implications without abusing the theories of poor Mr. Darwin.
As for the 'heroes' themselves; I had a really hard time identifying with them. I think I probably liked the nurse the most, but the emotional exploration of the characters seemed kind of limited. Everyone had their emotional key (person they most loved, character fault that nudged them towards making poor choices) without having very much dimension, depth, or complexity.
( Spoilers ahoy! )
