Aug. 11th, 2008 12:00 amEarlier this week I was telling someone that scholars believe that the bleached statues from antiquity were actually painted and fitted with eyes. Quite by accident ">I later stumbled across this article. (In a Smithsonian someone gave to me because the cover story was about Vikings.) I thought the pictures were intriguing, but equally as fascinating are the techniques they use to determine the colors.
