I have had three people dump zucchinis at my home. It's not that I'm ungrateful, but we've definitely gotten to that time of year that you can't leave your desk (or your house) for five minutes without someone leaving an enormous zucchini while your back was turned.

Every year I get to this season and feel like I STILL don't have enough zucchini recipes. Anyone have any favorites or any tips?

Also: what does one do with patty pan squash?

Also: If we are here to praise, today I will give thanks for fresh and juicy peaches. I dare to eat a peach, I dare!
My review of Lizzie Skurnick's Shelf Discovery, a collection of essays from her Fine Lines column on Jezebel, is up:

But the interview is even better. Her responses are thoughtful and incredibly generous. It made me feel like I'd had a conversation with a new friend:

I would excerpt my favorite bits on the interview, except the whole thing is just so dang good.

Re: re-reading, I recently re-read L.M. Montgomery's Emily books and was surprised to find how informative they were to my life as a writer. More on this in another post.
