Harvard's Psychedelic Club
Jul. 20th, 2010 06:27 amI finally hit a decent interview with Don Lattin author of Harvard's Psychedelic Club. I've heard several, most of them not as meaty as this one. As you know I'm a big fan of 'group' biographies and may give this one a read. (I actually think of this group as T-3, the third wave of American Transcendentalism. Interestingly, all three waves originated out of Harvard. (First wave would be the Concord Circle, second wave would be whatever one calls the group charted in Louis Menand's Metaphysical Club... William James and his ilk.)
For those of you not familiar with the group or their history, you may be surprised to find the influence (or perhaps the word is provenance) of this group particularly with regard to the New Age movement.
