The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie
A charming novel set in Jaclyn Moriarty's Ashbury High (Feeling Sorry for Celia and The Year of Secret Assignments) about an overachiever coming unhinged. There is a twist at the ending that almost makes it worth reading twice. The author does a wonderful job gaining the readers (and other characters) sympathy for an unlikable lead character. Best of all, the main character does not have to endure a humiliating makeover in order to be made more likable.

This is definitely one of those books you can recommend to adults who are censurious about YA. I will probably recommend it (along with the other Ashbury High novels) to my boss, who reads YA along with her daughter, but is easily offended by any intimation of sexuality or violence.
P.S.
cawriter I'll be shipping the book to you sometime in the next week.
