Hey, I had one of those! My stepfather has kept it all these years -- I don't know why. It's sitting on a bookcase somewhere with a bunch of other flotsam. I think there was a baby squirrel, too, but I don't remember for sure.
Whoa. I think I actually had one of those. All sorts of weird memories are floating to the surface, particularly the strange rubbery plastic texture of the furniture. What in the world brought this to your mind?
My office mate was reading me this terrible short story from her mountain biking magazine in which a papa squirrel gets hit by a bus and tells his surviving children to run for the country. We've been making squirrel jokes all day, then suddenly, I had a happy memory about squirrels who wore clothing, had deafening squeaks, and sat on rubber furniture.
